The eyeless see the ocean’s hue
Against the waves that blindly break:
Translucent lies are lost from view;
Their roaring breath, their truth should wake.
O blowing winds, the waters spread,
Reform the clouds an ageless squall!
And gathered once, their skin to shed:
One drop of rain—a drop for all!
When Angels play, all coasts are clear,
Each droplet is a Godly sight:
What often ebbs a deadly fear
Will rise and flow unto the light.
Renounce thy burden and its swell—
A golden yoke on Eden’s shore;
If left unhindered in its spell
The callous hand divine once more!
